Sooo, its that time of the year again, and I brought a new person along with me, my daughter!!! She’s 17 and its time to introduce to the awesomeness of NYC and Fashion Week.
It’s hard to gauge a teenager, cause they hate you one moment and love you the next, but she seemed super excited!!! Since she was there I felt that I shouldn’t cover any events as media, because you’re so busy interviewing, checking out behind the scenes, and taking pics of the models/collections; that it can be slightly difficult to relax because you want to cover every aspect, as opposed to taking it all in as a whole. Plus, anyone who has a teenage girl, knows they demand all of your attention!
Immediately after school, we went straight to the Megabus up to NYC. I’ve learned that you can judge how much fun your kid is having by the amount of snapchatting they do, and trust me we’re going over our data plan this month!
We arrived around 745pm, and I knew it’d be a great sign because we caught our first cab with ease!
We checked into the fabulous and perfectly located Crowne Plaza Times Square.
I decided to play it safe and go to the 9pm show of Art Loves Fashion which supports AIDs research.

…despite our VIP status, all of the seats were filled and we hung out in standing room only However, we’re all about the fashion not how our feet feel in heels, lol.

By the way, the 3 designers were so talented!
FERNANDO ALBERTO ATELIER (USA)
My Notes: Loved the blue/black theme; scalloped skirt & silky black/white with sequins stole the show!
My Notes: Perfect soft pastels; loved the geometric bold patterns; I’m addicted to pleated clothes so I loved the silk/pleated mixed items
My Notes: Very well tailored pants with great bombers; found a new love for paisley; loved the hair/makeup!
So I was nervous that my daughter didn’t enjoy it since we had to stand the whole time, but she loved it!!! We then had to stand in the dirty show with a lovely chill in the air trying to hail a cab. Fortunately a nice photographer from the show shared a cab with us.
Back at the hotel, we crashed for it was such a long day then of course spent our entire food budget on room service lol!
Stay tuned for further posts of our New York City Chronicles!!!
